I live in Belton, near Epworth on the Isle of Axholme and gradually over the last few years my Broadband service has got gradually worse and worse, in fact a few months ago I got to the point where

I just couldn’t take it anymore!!!!

If you’re reading this its because you either live here or somewhere close by like Goole or scunthorpe and are suffering from the same sort of problem.

Lots and lots of people living in some of these semi rural areas work from home or in most cases have their own businesses. As we all know, we all rely in some cases totally on the strength of our broadband signal. after all, how do we check email, go online, run our ebay shop or sell on Amazon without internet – the answer? We don’t.

And this is what happened to me a few months ago.

I’d set up an office in Doncaster quite sometime ago so mainstream work wasn’t a particular problem for me anymore, although any work I wanted to do just to catch up was becoming nigh on impossible. Add to this the other people in the house who needed to get online, kids whose homework seemed to always revolve around doing research on the internet and our broadband pipe was gradually getting more and more strangled, by the end I was ready to throw the router our of the window for all the use it was!

It honestly was getting beyond a joke! But we all need the internet so what was I going to do?

The Answer!

Was to think about getting broadband in a totally different way.

Instead of getting it via your ISP down your phone line, you get it via satellite. What this means is that you have a small dish on the side of your house, something like a Sky satellite dish, and a cable runs down the wall into your house and hey presto you get a complete transformation.

Before and after

I was getting literally 250 kbps, this is like old fashioned dial up and now i’m getting 30 – 40 times that!!!Yes, you read that right – 30 times what I was getting! I can now stream news and video, You Tube videos download in seconds and iPlayer programmes download in a fraction of the time they used to!

Look at the following screenshot from my iPhone’s broadband speed checker App, I ran these tests over the first week of the dish being installed. The figures you can see are Mbs! Can you imagine what it was like going to internet that was 30-40 time quicker than what we were used to?

The great news is that its available to most people - just look at the coverage map to see if you can get the signal, tell us your postcode and we’ll double check. Then all you need to do is to check out the information on whether you’re a home user or business user and then fill in the contact us form and we’ll get the installation company to get in touch – it’s that simple!

What are you waiting for?
